After departing Port Angeles, a significant portion of our 1 hour 10 minute drive into the Sol Duc Valley will feature gorgeous views of the mountainous Lake Crescent as we drive along the southern shoreline.

Stop At: Sol Duc Falls, Olympic National Park, WA

Our naturalist hiking guide will lead the group on the beautiful one-mile trail through massive old-growth forests until reaching the rustic nature bridge that crosses the Sol Duc River. There, we will enjoy an incredible view of the mighty Sol Duc Falls and explore other nearby viewpoints. Overall, the hike typically is 2-3 miles roundtrip.

Amazing views and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Gave us a lot of information. I would do this tour again if I get an opportunity to do so.

Thanks for a wonderful day. Tracy was great! She was knowledgeable about the area, pointed out interesting facts making our drive to the Falls very pleasant. The hike was magical. Beautiful tall Douglas Firs , moss covered Hemlocks, wildflowers and ferns were viewed along the trail. The trail was easy though you had to maneuver thru tree roots. It was record breaking temperatures that day but not at Sol Duc Falls. As we walked across the bridge to The Falls mist covered all of us. The raging sound of the water was all you could hear.

Our friends booked four separate days of private tours with The Olympic Hiking Company and we were lucky to be invited along. The owner, Tommy Farris, was very professional and organized and arranged hikes that were interesting, beautiful and exactly suited to the skill levels of our group. Each day was different (Sol Duc, Rialto Beach, the Hoh, and Hurricane Ridge) and offered unique perspectives of the Olympic Peninsula. Our guide, Eric, was very knowledgeable about the history and ecology of the area and oh so entertaining! It’s hard to imagine how experience could have been better!

This was an adventure of a lifetime! The trip was planned several months in advance. I worked with Tommy on things we wanted to see. He put together a day filled with so many beautiful places to explore! We had to change some things due to Covid closures, but we missed nothing! Tommy was very knowledgeable of anything and everything Olympic Peninsula! I am ready to start planning next years adventure with Olympic Hiking!
